When I really fancy some noodles, this place comes to mind. It’s great if you want to takeaway or just fancy a quick easy bite to eat. The food is cooked fresh and you can actually see the chef making your box if you perch over the counter. The reason I really like this place is because well the food is good, it’s halal (pork is not even on the menu) and I just love the cute chinese takeaway boxes!
The menu has quite a bit to choose from and you make your own box with you own veg/meat/tofu/seafood mix and sauce. If you want a bigger size it’s only a couple of quid more. It’s not the cheapest chinese you can find but the quality and taste do indochinese food justice, not to mention that it is quite central in London and in comparison to the other places it’s quite good.
So I took mine home, but if you are really lucky and live within their catchment, they’ll deliver to you!
We ordered one box of rice noodles, black bean sauce and tofu (clearly the healthy choice!) and egg noodles with malaysian hot and chicken. The gyoza (fried dumplings) and sesame prawn toast are pretty standard. The duck is halal too (Always double check when ordering though) – The duck gyoza dumplings were (Y). The banana fritters are quite nice too if you fancy something sweet. Their salad option i.e. zero noodle salads are okay but it’s more like chopped out veg in a box.
Food – 3.5/5 – the quality and variety of food is good and the fact that everything is halal is huge bonus. Disappointed by the fact that they didn’t put enough chicken/tofu (more expensive ingredients) in the noodle box
Service – 3/5 because it’s more of a takeaway place but the usual guy behind the counter is nice
Value – 3/5 – Paid around 15 pounds for two boxes, starters and drinks (but that was with a buy one get one free O2 priority moment voucher 😉 So all you lucky O2 customers, watch out for this deal!)
Venue – 3/5 it’s a fast food joint more than a restaurant but it’s in a great location
SAS – 4/5 – fast food indochinese, available takeaway or eat in (or delivery if within the catchment area) and serves duck!
